The London Regional went out with a bang!
18th February 2007
...And lots of confetti!
Thanks to everyone who attended the WGI 2007 London Regional! We hope everyone had a fun and enjoyable day!
You can now find photos of the awards ceremony here.
Congratulations to our class winners and European Champions: Light Brigade in Independent World, Southern Knights in Independent Open and Independent 'A', Pride Cadets in European Junior, and Avant Courir in European Cadet; and very well done to all the competing units for their outstanding performances.
The WGI London Organizers would like to thank all our volunteers and our judges and officials for all their tireless and valuable work throughout the day; all the competing units for their performances and their co-operation in helping to make the day run smoothly; and, of course, all the parents and supporters who came to watch and enjoy.
The WGI 2008 European Regional will return to the Netherlands on 16th February, 2008! For more information, visit the WGI European Regional website.
Once again, many thanks to everyone, and we wish all guards a very successful second half of the 2007 Winterguard Season!
Lost property at the Regional
18th February 2007
A blue drawstring bag was found in the stands yesterday night after everyone had left the venue. The WGI London Organizers are storing the bag; if it is yours, please contact us and tell us what is inside the bag.
Join us for an evening clinic with the Light Brigade!
12th February 2007
We are pleased to announce an evening clinic with our World Class unit from the United States, the Light Brigade!
The clinic will take place on Friday, 16th February, 6:30pm - 9:30pm at Charles Darwin School, Biggin Hill, Kent, and features fun dance, equipment and group work, along with a performance from the Light Brigade. The clinic will cost £4 per member.
You can find further information on our Clinic Flyer.
No pre-registration is strictly necessary, but it would help us if you could email us if your guard will attend, with an approximate number of members.
We look forward to seeing you on Friday evening!
Squires withdrawal
13th February 2007
Following the sudden passing of guard director Robert Gillett late last week, Squires have withdrawn from both the Regional and the UK circuit. The WGI London Organizers offer our sincere condolences to Robert's family during this difficult time.
In order to avoid significant timetable changes throughout the morning Prelims session, there will instead be a slightly extended break between European Cadet and European Junior Prelims. EJ Prelims will begin with Pride of Bristol's performance at 10:22, as previously scheduled.
Timetable now final, guard information now available, ticket pre-orders closed
9th February 2007
The timetable is now finalized -- there have been no changes since the last update on 1st February.
Competing guards should view both the Guard Information Sheet and Venue Maps.
We have now closed ticket pre-orders. No more Internet pre-orders will be accepted. Any pre-orders received by post will now be held for collection at the ticket desk on the day.
Two units withdraw; timetable updated
1st February 2007
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Southern Knights' units in European Junior and European Cadet Class have withdrawn from the Regional. However, their Independent 'A' and Independent Open Class units will still compete.
As a result of these withdrawals, the timetable has been updated. In order to attempt to reduce the length of the day, Finals now runs 30 minutes earlier than previously scheduled, with other smaller changes occurring during Prelims. Please click here to view the updated timetable.
Deadline for class changes
25th January 2007
In order to allow us to finalize the timetable in good time, the WGI London Organizers are imposing a deadline on units changing class. Any changes of class must be received by the Organizers by 12:00pm, midday, London time on Monday, 5th February. Changes requested after this time will not be permitted. We thank you in advance for your cooperation!

23rd January 2007
